Hi, my name is Stefan and I am the Lead Developer of Portal: Revolution. I started creating Portal: Revolution in Feburary 2016. At the time, I didn't have a lot of experience in Valve's Hammer Editor, which is used to create maps for their games. This is why, in the beginning, the game didn't look or play well - so I cut 90% of the content I had and begin again from scratch.

Portal: Revolution
The idea of Portal: Revolution is that since GLaDOS died at the end of Portal 1, the Personality Spheres and other AIs in Aperture are now free and can do whatever they want. But they know that GLaDOS is still alive, and to keep their freedom GLaDOS needs to be destroyed. But only a human has the power to do so - they wake you, testsubject #087 as their last hope to take GLaDOS down.

When I first started the project, I didn't think that it would ever become as big as it is now. But since it got Greenlit on Steam 2 months before it was discontinued, I gained a lot of motivation to continue the project. I would really like to earn some money for my work on this mod, but I would have to pay a 25 000$ fee to commercially license Source - so the mod will be released for free.
The biggest inspiration for me was Portal Stories: Mel. It’s an excellent Portal 2 mod in many ways, but the biggest flaw of it in my opinion is the puzzles. They are very hard and confusing. It isn't clear what your goal is and many of them are separated into numerous different parts that you have to solve. I want my mod's puzzles to have a difficulty ranging between Portal 2 and Portal Stories: Mel. We’re also including new test elements, such as Pneumatic Diversity Vents and Reflective Gel. Both of them are cut content from Portal 2, though many people want to see them utilised in unique ways. The biggest inspiration for me was Portal Stories: Mel. Spyce Software
I didn't want to refer to our team as the "Portal: Revolution team" or something similar, so I came up with a name that started with an S (Because I thought that would sound cool).
I registered the domain spycesoftware.com. The first version of the site wasn't pretty, because it was my first website. So I’ve remade the site to a better standard, which you see in front of you.

To learn HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP (The 4 most important languages for web development), I used w3schools.com.
